Community Mini-Grants
The Community Mini-Grants* are designed to support residents and small organizations within the Collaborative service area whose projects further our mission to help children, youth and families become healthy by choice, empowered by knowledge and connected to community support.

Below is a listing of our most recent grantees:

To be eligible for a grant you must:

  • Be a resident, small community organization or faith-based institution within one of the following Ward 4 neighborhoods:  Brightwood, Brightwood Park, Lamond Riggs, Manor Park, Petworth or Takoma Park. (Please note, we cannot fund projects that teach religious doctrine.)

  • Be or become a member of the Georgia Avenue Collaborative.  For our membership application, click here.
  • Propose a program, not a one day event, that provides recreation, education, enrichment or support to individuals in the target neighborhoods.

  • Complete an application describing how you will plan and carry out your project or activity and the objective you hope to achieve.

  • Provide a budget for your project.

If
funded, grantees must participate in a 2-hour training on child abuse and neglect issues, including sexual abuse and molestation prevention.

*At this time, the mini-grants program is on hiatus.  Please check with our office about future grant cycles.
