We currently have the following positions available:


Position:                     Family Support Worker

Salary Range:            $30,000 - $38,000

FLSA Status:              Non-Exempt

Brief Description of Duties:  The Family Support Worker, under the direct supervision of a licensed MSW, will facilitate clients’ transition to independence through the use of a strengths-based approach to family permanency and stability.  Activities will include case management with a focus on assessing family risk and needs, serving as a mentor to family members, advocating for the family, providing ongoing support and home visitation, linking families and children with resources and services, and helping to integrate family members into community activities and networks.  The Family Support Worker will also participate in outreach activities in the community and is eligible to coordinate a program component, service category or support group.  H/she will maintain all necessary documentation.

Qualifications:  Minimum BSW or BA in a related field and two years experience in a community-based social services setting; unlicensed MSW with similar experience; or High School Diploma or GED plus five or more years experience in a community-based social services setting.  Variance in salary for candidates with specialized experience.

Must be able to demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.  Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus. DC residents a plus.

Note:   Must be able to obtain a clear Police Clearance, Child Abuse Registry Clearance and FBI Clearance and must possess a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
